Welcome to the website of Stratford
Cycling Club. The Warwickshire based club aims to promote the amateur
sport of Cycling in Stratford-Upon-Avon and its object is to encourage
the sport in all its branches. The club is proud to promote an open
time trial and 2 road races in addition to a cyclo-cross meet and
a reliability ride.
The mainstay of the organised
cycling events is the traditional Sunday morning club run. The latest
runs are available in the routes section but suffice to say the
club runs make the most of some of the UK’s most varied cycling.
Situated at the north of the Cotswolds some of the rides venture
into this historic countryside and experience the short sharp hills
synonymous with this beautiful part of the UK. Club runs also go
into Worcestershire, the vale of Evesham for flat rides and into
the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. These are lead with local
knowledge and experience ensuring that the quietest and safest roads
lead to the best tea stops. As the summer racing season gets going,
in addition to the year round Saturday morning training run, the
Tuesday evening “bash” follows one of two routes at
a faster training pace. The fitness from these rides can be used
in the Club time trial events organised on a Thursday evening. During
the winter an outdoor track session at the Home Guard Club in Tiddington
on a Monday evening keeps the winter spread off. This website contains
all the information that you need to join
the club and understand the different aspects of the cycling
club and the rides. For members and visitors to the club you will
find the results of the club organised
events.
