Friday 6th July saw the 1st of the Cheltenham Leisure Lakes circuit races. On another very wet and soggy evening SCC junior riders braved the elements and were rewarded for their efforts.

The first race, which was u8/u10/u12's saw an early breakaway group of 4 riders, including Luke Simmonds. Luke rode very tactically, saving his energy for the attack, which came with about 1.5 laps to go. Luke managed a breakaway and finished some 1/2 lap ahead of the field, which included the u12 riders! Cerys had another great ride, finished 1st in the U8's overall.
2nd race saw Keir Lewis & Preslav competing. Keir was well ahead of his age group for the entire race and came over the line in 1st place. Preslav put in another brilliant performance, staying with the leading pack, on the sprint for the line, he came home in 2nd. Well done to all riders, we hope that we may see more SCC riders next Friday for race 2 at Cheltenham.
