With the winter came another visit to the Velodrome in Newport. This time Juniors came with the seniors showing how the club is growing.

This year saw a different mix of club members take the coach journey to Newport Velodrome to experience the boards for many for the first time. The group of 22 cyclists consisted of 10 juniors and 12 seniors.

After a comfortable coach journey (thanks John Johnson) and sorting out hire bikes we met in track centre. This is always a breath taking experience for those who have never been there before, and for those who have.

We met with the coach, Courtney Rowe, and had a complete briefing. We then set out riding around the flat area inside the track, gradually working up to riding on the track on the black the red lines. As the session progressed we ventured further up the track and carried out various drills to get us familiar with the track.

To finish the session we had a timed 500m time trial from a standing start. The two laps seemed to last for ever and everybody tried their hardest. The times were:
